Karaoke Ring Of Death

by Nicole on June 10, 2011

A lot of you already know this story, so I’ll keep it short: Many months ago a bunch of bloggers came up with the amazing idea to start recording themselves doing karaoke. I was actually present for the early conversations about this topic, but promptly went into hiding. I have alluded to the possibility of participating on several occasions, but never followed through with it.

This month’s theme is songs from your high school mixed tape, which is a theme I lobbied for and after advocating for it, I felt obligated to join in. Fortunately, I waited to participate until I was dying of the insane amounts of mucus in my body so nobody will ever ask me to do it again.

My trainwreck video can be found here at B and the B Sides. (So sorry for putting that shit on your blog, Bianca). I have the extreme pleasure of hosting this quirky little gem from Dave at The Fiction Factory. The full list is over at Sara Swears A Lot.

Hey everyone, Dave here.
First of all, I’d like to remind you to TURN IT UP! My camera is terrible for audio quality. Perhaps in the future, I’ll invest in some better equipment, but until then, we’re stuck with this. You don’t mind, right?
Anyway, if you’re interested in writing and the creative process, go ahead and check out my blog. My gracious and always outrageous host should have provided the link somewhere around here.
Other than that, I don’t have much else to say, so enjoy!
Oh, and if any of you ladies out there see this and think I’m sexy, I would like you all to know that I am single. That is all.

First song I learned on the guitar. As five five three three five five seven seven. Your so silly though. I mean what are you doing with your tongue? Great head swivel at the end. Class act.

Oh, wow, this song totally took me back!  Lovely rendition Dave, you have awesome facial expressions!  ;)

Great job, Dave :) Song 2 will go down as the only Blur song that ever gets radio play.

I wish we could have heard you more! Or do I? ……… ;)

I couldn’t remember the name of this song and was getting nowhere, googling “woo hoo song.” I finally figured it out, though, and I intend on downloading it ASAP.

I have been leaving comments on everyone else’s video and aside from calling it a quirky gem, I guess I didn’t really comment on it above. I feel weird leaving a comment on my own blog, but:

I agree with Bianca – the facial expressions are a total win.  This is such a fun song and you were clearly having loads of fun doing it, which is just all-around fun and awesome to watch.

(sidebar: I feel like I have fully exhausted the word “awesome” today.  I don’t know how many times I can tell people that they are “amazing” and “adorable” without it getting redundant, but seriously, this entire ring is exactly that.)

Honestly, I have no idea what that tongue thing is.  The playback actually kind of baffled me.  Anyway, thanks everyone, and I’m glad you enjoyed my faces!
